Paterson, New Jersey – On Tuesday Aug. 1, students from The Culinary School at Eva’s Village will face off in the first-ever Kontos Foods Cooking Challenge #KFCC17. The challenge: Come up with the tastiest and most inventive ways to prepare Kontos International Pastry Puffs. Called Loukoumades in Greek culture, the pastry puffs are universal and delicious—think Zeppole or Beignets. To a chef they can be a blank canvas, with limitless possibilities for creating sweet, spicy or savory-filled delights.
International Pastry Puffs will be the star ingredient of this event, and once the mystery ingredient baskets are unveiled, contestants will race against the clock to come up with the tastiest recipes. Judges, including Kontos Foods Corporate Executive Chef Demetrios Haralambatos, and Chef James Cwynar, Culinary School Director at Eva’s Village, will choose the winning contestants, who’ll be awarded prizes. The event will be streamed on Facebook Live.
